Updates Related To COVID-19
This will be where you can find the most up to date information concerning Codell Community Church and how we are navigating Covid - 19
We continue to have two services to allow for more space in our sanctuary. Masks are optional during worship services, but we ask that individuals remain respectful of everyone due to the varying degrees of comfort with Covid protocols and the spread of germs.
Due to the increasing Covid-19 cases in the area, we are now requesting that everyone wear a mask to church & keep it on when you are not seated. We are also asking that people refrain from singing to decrease the spread of germs. The video below provides more information & details. Contact Thayne or a leadership team member if you have any questions.
We are continuing our weekly worship gatherings which include the 2 worship services (9:30 and 11:00). With the dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases in our area AND limited hospital beds around the state of Kansas, we must use extreme precaution. We encourage all to consider wearing face mask, be diligent in social distancing, and wash your hand. Health care professionals are encouraging minimizing gatherings for the time being. Please consider engaging in our online worship service that is scheduled for 11:00 Sunday mornings as of right now.
We thank you for your understanding during this time. This will end and there will be a time that we will not have to take as many precautions.
Thank You, Pastor Thayne
We continue to meet for 2 services (at 9:30 & 11) to allow us to spread out a bit more within our gathering space. Cleaning happens between services to lessen the spread the germs. This month, the internet was upgraded which enables us to live-stream the 11am service. Click on the button below to sign up for an In-Person service! We look forward to seeing you here or having you join us online at 11am!
In-Person gatherings have been going well! We continue to take steps to ensure the health & safety of those that come into our building. Two services (at 9:30 & 11) allow us to spread out a bit more and we're cleaning between services. An online service option is also offered at 7:30pm on Facebook, Youtube & Church Online! Click on the button below to sign up for an In-Person service! We look forward to seeing you here!
As we navigate in-person services in the midst of Covid-19, we are taking measures to ensure social distancing. One of the ways we are doing this is offering 2 services and asking that people sign up for which service they plan to attend. Click on the button below to sign up for a Sunday service! We look forward to seeing you here!
We are beginning in-person gatherings again on June 14th! Safety is our top priority so there will a couple of things that are different, but there will be the same AMAZING community and worship!
We will be doing two services (9:30 & 11:00) so we can maintain appropriate social distancing and take necessary precautions. Please sign-up on the form below so we can make sure we are spreading the number of people attending out across the two services.
If you are feeling ill, please wait until you are feeling better. We will be continuing to put our services online and we would LOVE for you to join us there!
We are SO fortunate to have the understanding community that we have as we navigate these times! Thank you!

Greetings to all who are connected to Codell Community Church in any sense! I consider all of you a part of the Codell Community Church family. Thank you for being on this journey at this time.
It has been exciting to be witness to God’s goodness and faithfulness being so real in people’s lives during this time. During the past few months, we have seen God use Codell Community Church to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the communities around us. God has used us, imperfect people, to give people hope and see light in the darkness. This was made possible by God doing what He does… He uses healthy, life-giving churches to impact the areas around them.
It is an honor and humbling experience to be used by Him, to be a part of Him impacting people’s lives. And I believe that He will continue to use us! However, we must stay focused on the mission He has for us, be obedient to that, and continue to love each other well through this time where we could experience a wide array of different thoughts and opinions.
Here is some important information you need to know: we were planning on gathering to worship this Sunday, June 7th. However, the leadership team, myself, along with the assistance of local health professionals (all of which I am incredibly grateful for) are going to postpone gathering one more week, to Sunday June 14th.
Why are we doing this? It is to be precautious and to be prepared as much as possible. We feel that we need to take one more week to make sure that we can provide the safest environment possible.
Please know that this was an extremely difficult decision to make. I can’t wait to see you, the new attenders, and those who have attended in the past. But taking into consideration information and the world that we live in, we believe this is the best decision, even though it was extremely difficult.
I know that a lot of you were really looking forward to attending again, and there were a lot of you who are looking forward to coming back with safety measures put in place. Please know that it was difficult to come to this conclusion, but it is the best taking things into consideration.
As we move forward as a people and as a church, may we navigate life and the decisions we make with wisdom, not fear. Our God is large and in charge, and He is good and the extent of His love is hard to comprehend.
On that note, please join me for our online service that will be at 10:30am this Sunday, June 7th. I look forward to worshiping with you!
Blessings to you all!
Hello Church Family,
On behalf of the Leadership Team and Pastor Thayne we want to share how much we miss seeing each of you! We are thinking about you and praying for you. We appreciate you, love you, and want to ensure we can keep you and your family safe as we carefully plan to physically meet as a church once again.
While we are thrilled to see each of you again, we know that things will be much different than they were, but we will celebrate and rejoice in the opportunity to gather once again.
Based on continued conversations and recommendations from our local physicians and county officials, our tentative plan will be to physically gather again on Sunday, June 7th.
- 2 Services:
- 9:30 a.m. (Recorded and played online at 11:00 a.m.)
- 11:00 a.m.
- We are also exploring the option to have the downstairs available for overflow purposes. The video feed would go to the large TV that the Children’s Ministry uses each Sunday.
- No nursery supervision or Compass Kids Children’s Ministry.
- We are exploring ways to make communion work.
- Please greet with a wave rather than a handshake.
- Masks are welcomed, but not required to be worn.
- Please immediately exit the church following the service to allow volunteers to disinfect the church.
- We know the little and big kids (us) will be so excited to see each other, so please start the conversation with your kids about being respectful of the personal space of others.
- Showing love, giving grace and compassion
- Accepting others where they are
- Extremely hospitable and welcoming
We know that everyone has been affected differently by Covid-19. Please do not feel obligated to physically come to Codell if you have concerns about you or your family’s safety, please continue to join us online and we will look forward to seeing you soon!
If you feel ill in any way, please stay at home and watch the service online out of courtesy and respect for the health and well-being of others.
As you know, things change quickly. We ask for your understanding if/when we do have to make changes.
God is the strength that sustains us…the compassion that carries us…the loves that changes us.
Blessings to You,
The Leadership Team and Pastor Thayne

Watch Sunday's Worship Service Here at 10:30
We wanted to take a moment to address the heightened awareness and public concerns regarding the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Primarily, let's continue to navigate this time of uncertainty in faith through love, not by a spirit of fear. Let us be known as a people who come out from the darkness of isolation and into the light with the hope and resurrection life of Jesus.
That being said, this feels like an unprecedented situation that has been making an impact on our world and our local community. Right now, things are changing day to day. As a church we will do our best to love and care for you, and to keep you informed of changes to our ministries and events as they occur. We are making our best efforts to have an appropriate and balanced approach to COVID-19, and we trust you will do the same for you and your family.
At this time, we will be gathering on Facebook and watching the service together at our normally scheduled time of meeting (10:30). We are doing this because we feel this is the best way to love the people around this area.
While this is different and not what we would like, it is an opportunity to care for others around us. We can impact people by meeting basic needs and going out of our way to show people that they matter to God.
If You Are Feeling Ill
If you or someone in your family is feeling ill, the best way you can love your neighbor is by staying home and taking appropriate actions per recommendations from the CDC.
While it's unclear how long this current challenge will last, we know that we belong to a God who is present with us in every situation. Take a deep breath and feel the life of God inside of you, being assured of the peace that only Jesus can give. Let's continue to be diligent in prayer, to be compelled by compassion, and to be confident in the care of our Heavenly Father.
